Basmati Rice with Garam Masala

Shopping list:

  • 1 x Schani Royal Basmati rice             
  • 50 ml coconut milk                              
  • 20g diced ginger                                    
  • 20 ml tomato juice                            
  • 2 tbsp Schani Royal Ghee
  • 1/2 tsp Salt                                        
  • 1 tsp Schani Garam Masala               
  • 1 diced red onion

Preparation

Heat the ghee in a pan on medium heat. Sweat the onions in the ghee for approximately 20 seconds. Now add the ginger, salt, and the Schani ground Garam masala. Brown slightly for a further 20 seconds on medium heat. Deglaze the pan with tomato juice and coconut milk. Finally, add the Schani Basmati Rice and stir through. Turn the heat down low and place a lid on the pan. Allow to cook for 1-2 minutes to allow the rice to absorb the spice mixture.

Note: Adding liquid to the Royal Basmati rice will make it extra succulent.
